NOTES FROM THE NEEDLE

 JUNE 2009

Dear Quilters:

The Needle in a Haystack has always been a destination quilt shop. We are an hour east of Wichita on 400 highway and that means we are often on the way to other locations such as Branson, Lake of the Ozarks, or if going the other way-Colorado, or  maybe just a round about way to the doctor or your grandchildren. Last summer was interesting as “techy drivers” with their GPS’s tried to find the store. Sometimes the GPS gave great co-ordinates and sometimes it didn’t. However, by this summer I figured  all the correct info would be fed into those systems-WRONG!  I’ve been hearing of some strange things already. If it’s been awhile since you’ve been to the store, remember we are not in the town of Severy, but out on the highway. The shop at 207 Q Road is only a few feet North of Highway 400, so don’t let the GPS drag you off on some dirt road in the middle of a rancher’s pasture. If you end up at the Conoco station, don’t fret--you are almost there. Just come back out on 400 highway 1 mile west (turn right at the station’s stop sign) and you will see our silo that says Needle in a Haystack. We are easy to find once you know the way; in fact, many husbands look forward to their “destination nap” while their wife shops.

TEA TIME BLOCK OF THE MONTH

We are excited to announce the new HoneyBee Club's TeaTime block of the month by Nancy Murty. We will begin this program in July. The Andover fabrics range in soft greens, soft rusts and tans with a nice blend of paisley, floral, leaf and circle prints. This Block of the Month program will give you two size options--throw 72" x 72" or bed size 90" x 90".As usual for our kits, the borders and binding will be covered by your monthly fees so there is no surprise at the end.

Because of the 2 size options, your choice determines the length of your program and the cost. Those interested in the throw size, your monthly charge will be $20.95 (+$2.50 shipping) + tax, if applicable. Your program will last 5 months. The larger bed size quilt will last 6 months and your monthly charge will by $23.95 (+$2.50 shipping) + tax, if applicable.

You may begin early sign up NOW. Email needle@sktc.net   to reserve your spot or ask questions. These new BOM's have been added to the web store so you may register that way as well, http://www.needlenahaystack.com  .  However, your card will not be charged nor will your first block sent until July 2.
